History and Manufacturing
African Black Soap is a traditional soap originating from West Africa. It has been used for centuries for cleansing and skincare and is known for its natural ingredients and its mild, nourishing properties. The recipe and manufacturing methods have been passed down through generations in many West African communities.

The soap is traditionally made from the ash of plant parts, such as cocoa pods, which is mixed with natural fats and oils like shea butter, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and neem oil. The ash gives the soap its dark color and contributes to its cleansing properties. The mixture is boiled and processed until it achieves its characteristic consistency and is then shaped into pieces for use.

An interesting fact about African Black Soap is that it is still made with lye from ash, which is the original way of making soap. Today, few soaps are made this way, which makes it both unique and preserves a classic soap tradition.

What can African Black Soap be used for?
African Black Soap is a deep-cleansing, moisturizing, and mildly exfoliating soap that can be used for the face, body, and hair.

It suits all skin and hair types and is particularly suitable for acne-prone, oily, and impure skin.

The soap can also be effective against hyperpigmentation, uneven skin texture, and acne scars. It helps to deep-cleanse pores, remove excess oil, and prevent breakouts of pimples and acne. African Black Soap can also be used as a deep-cleansing shampoo for an oily scalp.

Note that the soap can vary in color from light brown to dark brown, depending on the duration of the boiling process. The color difference does not affect the quality of the soap.
